1180 Peachtree, a 41-story office tower developed by Hines and completed in February 2006 in Midtown Atlanta, was the first high-rise office building in the southeastern United States to receive Gold certification under the USGBC's LEED for Core & Shell rating system.
The office tower contains several green features, including a unique water-management system using captured and stored rainwater and condensate from the building’s mechanical system to provide 100 percent of the project’s irrigation water, circumventing the need for city water for irrigation.
The 690,835-square-foot building was sold by Hines in September 2006. Hines continues to manage and lease the property.
