Hines is developing Transbay Block 4, the largest affordable housing project in downtown San Francisco located between Howard, Main, Tehama and Beale streets. Designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and Kennerly Architecture and Planning, Block 4 is the last remaining residential block available for private development in the highly transit oriented Transbay district. The project includes 685 units split between a tower and midrise component.
The 512', 47-story, 463-unit residential tower includes 177 units of ultra-luxury for-sale condominiums, 260 luxury market rate rental units, and 86 below market rate rental units.
The 70', six-story, 20-unit townhome building fronts the new 1.1-acre Transbay park.
The 161', 16-story mid-rise building contains 202 below-market rate units developed in partnership with Mercy Housing.
